Summary of Studio Policies
Monthly rates for lessons are:
- $145/month for weekly 30-minute lessons
- $214/month for weekly 45-minute lessons
- $282/month for weekly 60-minute lessons
Payment is due on your first lesson of the calendar month. Payments not received by the second lesson of the calendar month will incur a late fee.
Discounts are available for students who wish to pay per semester (September-December or January-June).
Students are allowed to request one make-up per month for a lesson cancelled due to sickness or emergency. You must cancel at least one hour prior to your lesson to be eligible for a make-up. If granted, a make-up must be used within one month of the absence. A make-up time is never guaranteed.
The studio is closed on all major holidays and during most school vacations. Please see the complete policies (dowloadable below) for all studio closure dates. In the event of a snow-day, I will provide make-ups for all missed lessons.
If you need to discontinue your lessons, I require at least two weeks' paid notice.
In addition to learning how to sing, all of my students learn how to practice - a skill in and of itself. Consistent, thoughtful practicing is essential to developing any skill, no matter your age or experience level. In your lesson, we will talk about what and how to practice so you that you can grow, improve, and achieve your goals.
All students are expected to practice at least 4-5 days per week, regardless of their age and/or level.
Students ages 10-11 should spend 5-10 minutes working on technique, and 10-15 minutes working on repertoire.
Middle/high-school-aged and avocational adult students should spend 10-15 working on technique, and at least 15-20 minutes working on repertoire.
Students preparing for college auditions or similar should spend 20 minutes working on technique and at least 20 minutes working on repertoire.
All students will need either a piano/keyboard to use during practice, or a reliable audio device on which to record their lessons and play background/accompaniment tracks.
